Arkell Community Centre, Nympsfield Road, Forest Green, Nailsworth, Gloucestershire, GL6 0ET

A well-loved iconic community centre has been fitted with the latest cutting edge green technology, including photovoltaic panels and a ground source heat pump.

The charity run Arkell Community Centre was given a substantial grant by The Gloucestershire Environmental Trust to help it to become an environmentally sustainable and well-equipped facility for residents.

The community centre first opened its doors to residents in September 2010 and now offers a wide variety of social and recreational activities, which are tailored to meet the community's needs and aspirations.

Bringing the community together and providing a well-equipped, flexible facility was the aim of Nailsworth Town Council as previously, the area of Forest Green has had considerable deprivation.
