Wotton Arts Project, Chipping Hall, The Chipping, Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire, GL12 7AD

Housed in an old listed school building which forms part of the Chipping area of Wotton under Edge is the Chipping Hall Back Room.

With creative modification, the Back Room has been transformed from a drab and overly-cluttered storage space into a light and airy room. It now doubles both as a storage space, a 'green room' for use by performers and a second space for classes, talks and small exhibitions.

In addition to the Back Room, a small disused outbuilding has undergone extensive refurbishment and is now providing the much needed storage space for equipment.

The main hall is very well used by the local community. Converting the outbuilding and modernising the Back Room has responded to an increase in demand for space.

The Gloucestershire Environmental Trust has supported this project with a £20,000 grant. This very workable scheme has proved what can be achieved for the community it serves.
