It proves what can be achieved when communities work together to greatly enhance a facility and provide space for young people and other groups, to meet for sport, youth club and other activities.
The Painswick Pavilion development project has been 2 years in the planning as the available building was far from ideal. The building was in a poor state of repair and unsuitable to accommodate the football and cricket clubs and other groups. Access for the disabled was limited and there was an overall lack of security. With increasing numbers using the facilities, a major upgrade was required.
Members of the charity PSALM, the parish council and the local community have made this possible through their commitment and determination to re-develop a former rugby pavilion, into a facility that will provide many community uses.
A grant of £15,000 from The Gloucestershire Environmental Trust has contributed towards this significant refurbishment which will benefit the local and surrounding communities.
