Funding has helped to install both electrics and plumbing at the iconic Brunel Goods Shed, giving it power and light for the first time ever. Works have included fitting three new fully functioning toilets and repairs to floors, bollards, doors and windows have been carried out.
The renovation and restoration project has been ongoing for 25 years by the Stroud Preservation Trust and part of the £30,000 refurbishment works has been funded by The Gloucestershire Environmental Trust.
The internal wiring tails have been patched into the new three phase power supply. Bollards and repairs to floors, doors and windows have also been completed.
Since initially closing in 1966, the latest renovation works mean the space is now fully usable and the building's sub tenant, Stroud Valleys Artspace, is bursting into life with visual and performing artists.
